Dalem Sangsit temple
The temple can be easily reached by motor vehicles.
The main attraction of this temple is the reliefs carved on the
outer wall illustrating “Bima Swarga” (Bima’s Journey to Heaven)
story/ which principally depicted some punishments may be de-
served by everyone after he/she dies. According to how good/
bad he used to conduct while being alive.
The relief also countains phylosophic values about the rights and obligation of a Hindu follower, for instance the obligation of a women who has to be capable to handle her house works as a house wife and what punishment she may deserve after she died if she neglected all of her obligations. For example it is depicted that a woman has to nurse a giant caterpilar for not being able to give birth to a baby as her family’s descendant. Due to the old age, the relief faded on some parts of the wall but on the other parts it is still clear.
Horrifying faced-statues commonly found at some “Pura Dalem” as the temple of the dead give a scaring atmosphere but at once also an attraction of the temple it self.
Coming from Singaraja up to Sangsit right infront of Sangsit
market, there is a sign to the object, then just turn left to follow
the asphalted road of about 700 meters before getting at Beji
Temple, turn right again to follow the unpaved-road to Pura
Dalem Sangsit which is about 800 meters in distance from the
main road.

For the time being, Pura Dalem Sangsit has not been completed
with any tourist facility vet, however the road infront of the temple
leading to the village cemetery can be used as temporary park-
ing lot.For those having no private car, the temple can be reached on foot for the distance about 2 km from the main road. Unfortunately, there has no public transports like “bemo”, or “ojek” ( motor bike shuttle-service ) available to serve the route.
