Iseh village as a place of interest had been known before the war for independence in Indonesia (1945). A German painter named : Walter Spies lived at Iseh between 1895-1942. He built a small hut as his painting studio and here at Iseh he produced some of his best paintings.Instead of being a painter, Mr. Spies was also interested iri “gamelan” orchestras.
